The country's supply and demand has been hit hard by the lockdown. So this time SpiceJet will deliver medical and other essential items through drones. That's why the airline recently got permission for a drone trial.

Earlier this month, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) allowed 13 teams to operate drones on an experimental basis. Following the successful trial, the airline's cargo arm SpiceExpress will deliver essential medical parcels and essential items and food items, SpiceJet said.

Ajay Singh, chairman and managing director of the airline, said in a statement, "Drone technology is a major step forward in delivering essential items and food items to low-cost airline services in India."

Throttle Aerospace, one of the companies affiliated with SpiceExpress, has been given the task of handling drones out of visibility on a trial basis, the airline's operator said in an electronic message. However, it is not known exactly when the trial will start.

India is going through the biggest lockdown in the world. Demand for this specialty has grown significantly as a result of recent corporate scandals involving food and medicine, as well as coronavirus.

However, with the increase in lockdowns, the rules have been relaxed in some areas, including passenger planes. Earlier this month, Amazon India reported that the company would temporarily hire 50,000 employees to meet the country's online shopping demand.

According to SpiceJet, the necessary items will be delivered to the corners of the country by flying drones. However, no comment has been made on when it will start.

Incidentally, Rajasthan has recently flown drones to deal with locust attacks. According to a report in the Times of India, Rajasthan has become the first state in India to use drones to repel locusts. Drones are mainly used to spread pesticides. Helps to repel locusts by making a kind of sound.

Drones have been used in places where tractors are not able to reach. It is reported that 30 more drones will be used for this purpose.
